What Is a Pet Microchip?
A pet microchip is a tiny integrated circuit — about the size of a grain of rice — encapsulated in a biocompatible glass capsule. It's injected under the skin between the shoulder blades using a hypodermic needle, similar to a routine vaccination.
Each chip contains a unique 15-digit identification number. When a handheld scanner passes over the chip, it activates via a weak radio signal and transmits its ID number. This number is then used to look up the owner's contact information in a registration database.
How Pet Recovery Works
